Page design

As community newspapers change and adapt, one of the biggest areas of noticeable change has been page design. A common theme discussed at the Nebraska Press Association in the last five to seven years has been packaging stories and having one large package on the front page. In this post, I have included some substantial packages. You will notice that we did a redesign between 2013 and 2014. As part of the redesign, an effort was made to build more white space into our pages, specifically the front page. In order to do that, it has been necessary to reduce the amount of content and number of stories. The result has been a cleaner layout that seems to be easier to read and visually more appealing.
